Industrialisation and process optimisation

Industrialisation doesn’t end with series launch. At EDSA, continuous process improvement is an active discipline that supports the product throughout its service life, with the aim of reducing cost, improving quality and increasing manufacturing robustness.

    01Operation reduction

Systematic analysis of the manufacturing flow to identify redundant operations, resequence steps or eliminate intermediate stages without compromising the quality of the result. Fewer operations mean lower cost, less handling and a lower risk of defects.

    02Process integration

Consolidation of several operations into a single station or tool: stamping and tapping, forming and assembling. Integration reduces the number of intermediate part numbers, shortens lead time and simplifies internal logistics.

    03Manufacturability improvement

Direct technical liaison during development, industrialisation and series production. Management of drawing changes, resolution of non-conformities and support in approval processes (PPAP, APQP, IATF 16949).

    04Process repeatability and stability

Implementation of statistical controls, parameter adjustments and workstation standardisation to reduce variability in series production. A stable process is the foundation of consistent, predictable quality.

    05Series readiness

Structured management of new part number launches: tooling validation, first-off parts, final control plan and initial sample approval. Shorter set-up times and lower non-quality costs in the early stages of production.

    06Component and assembly optimisation

Where the project allows, collaborative redesign aimed at simplifying the solution: merging parts, eliminating part numbers, replacing welded assemblies with formed geometries or reducing the number of joints. The result is a more efficient component that is cheaper to manufacture and more robust in service.
